

Wayne "Doobie" Gerard Fabra, 58, our local legend in the world of heavy metal music, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the age of 58. He was the beloved life partner of Barbara Wilson, and the loving son of Diane Burke Fabra and the late Wayne Vincent Fabra. Doobie was also the cherished grandson of the late Lillian Pardo & Peter Pardo and Lillian Reeb & Clarence Reeb. He leaves behind many cousins, relatives, and close friends who will remember him fondly.
Born in New Orleans, LA, Doobie was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish. His love for music began in his youth and would remain a driving force throughout his life. With a deep passion for hard rock and the many genres of heavy metal, he was a talented drummer and songwriter. His talent and dedication to his music led him to tour internationally with the bands Graveyard Rodeo and Necrophagia, among others, sharing his love for music with metal fans across the globe.
He was especially devoted to the New Orleans hard rock scene. Doobie was more than just a musician; he was an ambassador for the heavy metal community, always supporting fellow artists and inspiring the next generation of metal enthusiasts. His presence, both on stage and off, left a lasting impact on everyone who crossed his path.
He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, Doobie. Your legacy in the world of heavy metal will most certainly endure.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Monday, January 27th from 11:00AM – 1:00PM, followed by a funeral service in his memory beginning at 1:00PM. He will be laid to rest in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
